Zoey W. – National Leadership Council (NLC) Program
Dear Donor,
I can't even describe how much it means to me to be able to go on my NLC trip. I am so lucky to have this experience of being a part of NLC. This orientation summer has been such an incredible part of my life. I have found my closest friends here, and it is so powerful for me to develop relationships with Christian Science teenagers.
It makes me feel so proud to be a part of this amazing group, and I feel so included and welcome here. From the moment I got into NLC, I have been so looking forward to this trip and I am so grateful that you have made this possible for me. There was one part of my trip that stood out to me as being so, so, so special. I have been training for months to peak a 14,000-foot mountain this summer. I was so incredibly happy that I peaked yesterday. I was feeling very weak, and I was struggling on the hike. What stood out to me was all of the love and support I received from the teens in my group. They were so loving and caring, and they helped me so much in completing my hike. Without my NLC friends, I don't think I could have done it. Their support has allowed me to accomplish one of my most important goals ever. I have been wanting to peak forever. Thank you so much for supporting me during such an important time. During this trip I have felt myself grow so much closer to God. During so many times on my NLC trip, I have thought about this quote: “Fear thou not, for I am with thee.” This quote has been so powerful to think about during my time rafting, swimming, playing games, hiking, doing service, and most especially, facing my fears. I have felt so comforted by this during all moments here on my trip. I can’t even describe all of the incredible moments here on this trip, from personal development to making life-long friends. Thank you so much for making this life-changing experience possible.
Caio C. – Summer Camper
This year was my best summer yet at the [camp]. I was able to grow spiritually and have a lot of fun with the other campers I was able to meet throughout session 2 and session 3. I was able to experience a new challenge by doing the torchbearer challenge and successfully run the 7 miles during session 3.
It was an experience that helped me to have a deeper connection with God. The torchbearer challenge was my favorite activity at camp, even though it was the most challenging too. It allowed me to go out of my comfort zone by doing something I have never done before. This is the main reason why I love to visit [camp], it offers exciting activities that allows campers to grow spiritually, have fun, and grow out of their comfort zone, making me want to travel to another country every year. I would like to thank my councilors, campers, wranglers, staff, and camp directors that made this all possible.

My husband, son, and I are so grateful for the support we received to attend Family Camp this past summer. We had a wonderful time and experienced a lot of growth and healing.
Since we don't have a Sunday School or even a creche at our branch church, these events are so important for exposing our 2-year-old son to the teachings of Christian Science and introducing him to a global community of people studying and practicing Christian Science in their everyday lives. It was also so important for us as parents to see and speak with other families raising their children in Christian Science. We were able to share ideas and insights that support our understanding of true parenthood, while also discussing the challenges modern families face trying to instill healing values from a young age in a world that doesn't openly encourage spiritual healing.
A few days into the week at family camp, my husband became unwell and had to excuse himself from meals and activities. He was reluctant to speak with the camp practitioner, but he allowed me to ask the practitioner to support him metaphysically. He spent the day in bed listening to Christian Science resources on his phone. At one point, he asked to speak with the prac. The prac visited him and they spoke for a long time. The next day, my husband was able to participate in all the activities. When he came home, he said he would like to start reading the Bible Lesson and asked if I would get him a subscription!
My highlights were seeing my son at mealtimes closing his eyes for the prayers and singing out for the blessings - he was so cute! It was also very special singing with my husband at hymn sing. He has a beautiful voice and gets a lot out of the hymns.
Thank you again for making this beautiful experience possible for our family!
